As I look back on this last year, I am overwhelmed by God’s kindness in bringing me here to minister to you all. Many times since I arrived, I have led too fast or was not thoughtful in how I worded something or decided another thing. You all have been gracious to me as we have stumbled forward together, and I am forever grateful for your love and support. The enemy has been working hard to discourage, distract, and deviate from the ministry of Rozetta Baptist Church. I have never felt more spiritual warfare since accepting the call to be your pastor over this last year and a half. God has used every second of suffering, confusion, and failure to grow me in humility, holiness, and wisdom. I am thankful for the suffering. I am grateful for the privilege of shepherding God’s flock here in Henderson County.
Looking into the future, I believe if we hold on together in familial love, sacrifice for each other, and all continue to grow degree by degree in Christlikeness, we will be surprised at the wonderful things God will do in and through Rozetta Baptist Church, especially in our own hearts and minds. The Lord has added many baptisms and new members to our number this year, which is beyond praiseworthy! He has grown all of us through His word, brotherly fellowship, and prayer. As I watch God gently grow each of you, my heart overflows with joy. It is truly overwhelming to see how much some of you have grown over this last year. God is good!
I pray God will continue to change me into the man of God I am called to be and that His will will be done here at Rozetta. Let’s dive into this next year and see what God has for us! Who knows…maybe the next great thing God does here will be in and through you! I will continue to pray, preach, disciple, and patiently shepherd as we all stumble forward in sanctification this next year. My hope is that you will give God everything this year, whatever that may look like for you!
Know that I love you, pray for you regularly (yes…you!), and am excited to continue growing alongside you!
What are you thankful for that God has done in your life this year through Rozetta?
1 I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together! 4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him and delivers them. 8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!
Psalm 34:1-8
May God bless your week as you seek His kingdom first!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Dan
