Psalm 30:4-5 (January 30th)

“4 Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name. 5 For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.”

May thankfulness, favor, and joy be multiplied to you this morning. Our God is indeed a consuming fire. He is not to be trifled with. He will discipline the children whom He loves. He will judge the unrepentant sinner with righteous wrath. For you today, it is vital that you choose to give thanks. A thankful heart is like the morning sun that begins to disperse the dew set on the leaves of our lives. It rouses the spirit, and the mind prepares the soul for its rightful purpose. You have much to be thankful for. Begin your day with thanks and specifically today for His favor and joy!

We are so blessed to know that no matter what suffering, persecution, or failures we have in this life, we are but for a moment. While they seem incredulously gigantic today, in eternity future with Christ, they will appear to be a mere spot on the windshield of life. Keep your heart focused on the morning. You may be in the most demanding season of your life, the easiest season, or the most complicated, but none of that is to be compared with your future with your God! Meditate on this today, Romans 8:18.

“18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Dan
