Psalm 27:9-10 (January 26th)

“9 Hide not your face from me. Turn not your servant away in anger, O you who have been my help. Cast me not off; forsake me not, O God of my salvation! 10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the LORD will take me in.”

There is something especially dear to us when others listen to us, and that is when we can see their face. This is why phone calls between family members easily become Facetime in our day and age. We find great joy, comfort, and intimacy in seeing the face of the one we speak to. How much more do we desire to see the face of our Lord this morning? Great despair, terrible anxieties, and furious tempers have already shown us their face so early in the day. We desperately seek the face of the One who keeps us, loves us, and leads us.

How terrible it would feel for our Savior to turn His back on us…to not look at us in our weakness. Cry out to Him! Others may forsake you and leave you behind, but the Lord is faithful, loving, and gentle. He will always take you in. He will never let you go. He is the God of your salvation! Keep your eyes locked with His, and as you do, the worries and temptations of this life will melt away. You serve the great God of the universe, and He will always be right there with you in every situation. He is with you as you are tempted, fail, stumble, and foolishly give in to your sin for the hundredth time. Seek His face this morning, my friend. Find comfort in His graceful presence, and never let Him go!

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Dan
