Psalm 23:3 (January 17th)

“3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.”

As we read our text, the question naturally comes to mind. Why are you cast down my soul? We have infinite resources from our great Shepherd! How do we so quickly feel empty, apathetic, giving over to our sin? God is the one who restores our souls! We are much like the woman at well…too focused on the temporal water that we miss the eternal Water before our very eyes. Listen to Jesus’ words this morning from John 4:13-14.

“13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Christ is more than enough, my friend. Turn to Him. Drink deeply of His word. If you do, you will find the restoration your soul so desperately desires and your feet walking on the path of life. The believer's secure walk is unwavering because Christi is the one leading us in it. Though we may fail and fall, He will always keep us and lead us for our good and His glory. As you walk through your day, meditate on these Scriptures so that your heart will be renewed in the restoration it finds most satisfactory. You were made to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever! Walk with your Savior today and see how He blesses your life.

Grace and Peace,

Pastor Dan
