“11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
How easily we can find ourselves like Pilgrim, having walked just beside the path of life to see other things. We believe we are still in view of the right path, just not walking on it. The false security lulls us into taking our eyes off of where our feet should be. Praise the Lord that He is greater than our weakness!
Let me bring to your attention this morning a lovely hymn that brings joy to our wayward hearts:
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart Lord, take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above
Here's my heart Lord, though it's weakened
Hold me in Your precious arms
The greatest to the least of the saints find themselves in this hymn, begging the God who controls all things to hold them, seal them, and take their heart and keep it. What a timely reminder this morning that God makes the path of life known to us. We do not have to question or hope in some mystical process. The Lord has always communicated clearly, and never more so than in our day, as we have His perfect word!
My friend, look to Christ! There is fullness of joy in His presence, and at His right hand, there are pleasures forevermore! What more could you want or desire? How could we ever give over to anxiety or worry when we see how grand and majestic our Savior is? We lack these delectable spiritual fruits for lack of keeping our gaze fixed on Him. Come and feast before the Lord this morning by praying and singing the hymn mentioned above. Go and serve your King!
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Dan
